Chronic Disease Nurse Joanne Stoesz

  • Joanne Stoesz

I grew up in a small rural town in southern Manitoba. I knew at the age of five that I wanted to be a nurse and that passion never left me. Upon completing Practical Nursing in 2008, I ventured into various types of nursing. Working in areas such as long term care, acute care, insurance medicals, and lastly family practice, gave insight into what my true passion was. Rural family practice is near and dear to my heart and I enjoy seeing patients throughout their lifespan. Being part of their health management and encouraging them on their journey is the best part!

After being part of the nursing team at Agassiz Medical Centre for 7 years, I switched roles and started working in chronic disease management at both Agassiz and CW Wiebe Medical Centre's. Currently my main focus is on diabetic care and management. I work alongside a team of professionals who work together to provide care and support for patients. With all the specialties coming together, patients receive great support.

fter work I enjoy gardening, riding my motorcycle and spending time with my family and friends.
