Dr. Donna Neufeld
ER, Family Medicine, Obstetrics
Dr Donna Neufeld grew up in the wild beauty of Steep Rock, on the shores of Lake Manitoba. She lived in Winnipeg with husband Erv, raising four children – and (when their own doctor stopped practicing) was stunned to realize that there was no way to find another family doctor accepting patients, no matter how hard she tried.
Thus she went to University of Winnipeg for a BA in History, then on to University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, where she was recipient of the Katherine Klassen Memorial Award, for demonstrating a high level of compassion and modeling a patient-centered approach to care. Dr Neufeld completed her Rural Family Medicine residency in Red Deer Alberta via the University of Alberta. She is honoured to be starting her first practice in Morden at Agassiz clinic, where she plans on doing work in family clinic, obstetrics, emergency medicine, hospital care and surgical assisting.
Her interests include gardening ( she is already plotting out intricate beds and landscaping for her husband to construct – shhh, don’t tell Erv). She aims to balance her professional life with generous helpings of writing and painting, hiking and biking and home-cooked meals well marinated in the laughter and love of family and friends.
Dr Neufeld trained in Morden for a few months during medical school, and discovered that this site dovetailed well with her own goals of providing care to a rural community, being involved in a wide-variety of medical opportunities, and practicing alongside physicians who hold themselves to a high standard of evidence based medicine. So Morden was her planned destination from that point onward.
Also – let’s face it: the town and countryside is lovely. And there’s a lake!
She and Erv – a finish carpenter – look forward to settling in, frequently hosting their four adult children from Winnipeg, and being within an easy drive of Jets games!Back to Team
