Dr. Ben Lulashnyk
Anesthesia, ER, Family Practice
I was born and raised in Northern Manitoba. My heritage is a mixture of Ukrainian, Icelandic, Norwegian and English, parts of the mass immigration to settle the prairies in years past.
My pursuit of hockey at higher levels provided me with the opportunity for a university education, which eventually lead to a career in medicine. I first obtained a Bachelor of Science, split between the University of Regina and Manitoba in 2005. I continued my education at the University of Manitoba where I completed medical school in 2009, a Rural Family Medicine Residency based out of Dauphin, MB in 2011, and then completed an advanced year in Anesthesia back at the University of Manitoba in 2012. I have worked at various medical facilities in the province of Manitoba since, including the Dauphin Medical Clinic, and C.W.Wiebe Medical Centre.
I am a proud father of two sons, and do my best to keep up with my wife. She is very involved in the community, as a French Immersion Teacher, and continuously as a volunteer for several organizations and events. She is of Chilean descent, and is also fluent in Spanish.
I enjoy most sports and outdoor activities, especially camping with my family. I continue to regularly play hockey. I also volunteer as a coach for Morden minor hockey, and other sports.
Having the experience of living and working in different parts of Manitoba has guided my family, and I, to chose Morden as the community we felt is suited best to call home. Morden has been a welcoming and friendly community for my wife and I, as evidenced by the numerous friends and community connections we have created since moving here in 2014. As our children are centre to our life, we feel Morden is a great community to raise them in. Morden has a great balance of country feel, with access to city services. We intend to call Morden home for years to come!Back to Team
